(Baku is the local indigenous `Kuku -Yalangi bama' name for Cape Kimberley.

Visit beautiful Cape Kimberley Beach in the Daintree National Park and enjoy this self contained studio style cottage, situated in the grounds of the only ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT residence on this unspoilt tropical beach.

The cottage overlooks uninhabited coral fringed Snapper Island. and beyond to Port Douglas and Cairns.

Nestled in a 3 acre haven of tropical gardens and surrounded by Daintree Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest and The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the position is exclusive and unique.

With safe swimming right in front of the property, the unspoilt beach extends from a beautiful rainforest clad rocky headland in the north, some 3 kilometres to the famous Daintree River mouth to the south.

Attractions

Fishing: Local waters are Coral Trout and Spanish Mackeral and (seasonal) barramundi fishing grounds

Swimming in the Coral sea right at your doorstep.

Snorkeling: We invite you to sail our 14 ft. catamaran. to beautiful, uninhabited, offshore Snapper Island (2ks) find beautiful coral gardens to snorkel and beaches to fossick, far ... far away from the tourist trail.

Boating: Should you have your own boat you can sail or trail it in, weather permitting launching for small boats is available off the beach directly in front of the house.

Rainforesting: The Daintree Rainforest offers world class rainforest walks, unique flora and fauna and refreshing swimming holes.

Not So Far: Driving in; we are 5 kms north of the Daintree Ferry and another 5kms east toward the coast, (total 15 mins north of Daintree Ferry Crossing) and one and three quarter hours drive from Cairns International Airport.

ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT POSITION, described by guests as `just like being on your own Island'.

Bright and airy studio style cottage built adjacent to main house, indoor and outdoor dining settings, queensize bed, full kitchen, comfortable living area with TV and DVD, ensuite bathroom. Both gas and wood fired BBQs. Undercover verandah with fabulous sea and Island views.

Two guests only at any one time (baby in travel cot or small child sharing existing bedding O.K. ) small pets welcome with discussion.

Hosts Peter, Sha and Rhys Hughes have lived in the area for a number of years and have good local knowledge on things to do and see, they will do as much or as little as you like in order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Small resort nearby for convenience shopping (milk, bread ice cream etc). with public bar and restaurant.

Supermarket at Cow bay (20 min drive)

Reef trips available from Cape Tribulation (35 mins) and from Port Douglas (45 mins).
