Port Douglas
Port Douglas has been transformed from a sleepy fishing village into a first class
international holiday destination in just a few short years.
Just a scenic one hour drive north from Cairns, it has often been described as Australia's
premier holiday destination.
Framed by the clear blue waters of the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef on one side,
and the verdant green of the World Heritage Rainforest on the other, it is surely one of
the most scenic destinations in Australia.
Port Douglas also has a wide variety of attractions, with over 100 different tours
departing Port Douglas daily, catering to all ages and tastes that make the most of its
unique location.
The village itself boasts great restaurants, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and galleries,
framed by tree-lined streets, historic North Queensland architecture and the laid back
casual atmosphere of a beachside resort.
As many visitors before you have found, you will need plenty of time to relax and fully
sample everything the destination has to offer. Port Douglas is a Tropical Paradise you may
never want to leave.

the patrolled beaches and between the red and yellow flags where the stinger enclosures are
located. Stinger resistant enclosures afford a high degree of protection, however, they
are stinger resistant not stinger proof. To avoid Irukandji stings check with
